In line with the serious call made by the Malaysian Government to develop the country's own center of excellence in aircraft maintenance and its related manufacturing activities, initiatives are played by the private sector to materialize the call.
One fine example is AEROCLEAR (ASIA) SDN. BHD. which was incorporated on 27th March 2000 as a result of a Technology Transfer Agreement with AEROCLEAR PTY. LTD AUSTRALIA, which is the fourth company in the world to have the facilities for refurbishing and repairing aircraft window and taxi light lens to service the aviation operators. In addition, the company will ultimately manufacture interior items such as rear of seat meal table, sun visors and scratch panes.
The main technology involves the adoption of a diamond head milling process and vacuum table technique for passenger window surface restoration, which strictly adhere to minimum criteria and manufacturer's specifications. The acquisition of this technology will bring positive contribution to Malaysia's aviation industry.
Currently, AEROCLEAR (ASIA) SDN. BHD. has been certified by the Department of Civil Aviation, Malaysia (DCA) as the governing body for airworthiness requirements in the country, where the facilities is fully ready for commercial operations with client spanning the region in Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Burma, Vietnam, Cambodia and Brunei.
